iciHaiti - South : Irrigation canal dredging work

For about a week, the Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development (MARNDR) has been carrying out irrigation canal dredging work in several communes in the South Department, to benefit farmers.

This new intervention, led by the Resilient Agriculture for Food Security Project (PARSA), aims to address the agricultural emergencies caused by Hurricane Melissa in the South Department.

Since the start of operations, workers have been carrying out the timely work, as the population of the 11 beneficiary communes (Les Cayes, Torbeck, Maniche, Chantal, Camp-Perrin, Aquin, Saint Louis du Sud, Cavaillon, Port-à-Piment, Chardonnières, and Les Anglais) relies primarily on agriculture, and these canals are vital.
