Screening of the film "Shared Heritage: Traditional Dances in Haiti" at the 20th session of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, New Delhi, India, December 9, 2025.

The Ministry of Culture announces that the ethnographic film entitled "Shared Heritage: Traditional Dances in Haiti" has been officially selected for screening on December 9, 2025, at the 20th session of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (20 COM), which will be held from December 8 to 13, 2025, in New Delhi, India.

This session, bringing together representatives of UNESCO’s 194 Member States and 12 Associate Members, is one of the most important international forums dedicated to the protection, preservation, and transmission of intangible cultural heritage worldwide.

Produced by the Haitian Institute of Heritage and Tourism and co-directed by socio-ethnologist and research professor Dr. Kesler Bien-Aimé, the film Shared Heritage highlights the richness of Haitian cultural heritage through traditional dances, their symbolism, their social functions, and their essential role in the national collective memory.

The film will be screened on December 9, 2025, at 1:15 p.m. and 2:15 p.m., in Room 2 of the conference center where the Committee meetings are held.
