Haiti - Mirebalais : A SWAT officer killed during the recapture of Zocofra

On Monday, December 8, 2025, an offensive led by specialized units of the Haitian National Police (PNH) in Mirebalais (central plateau) resulted in the recapture of the Zocofra area. Several bandits were killed, others wounded, and some, evacuated by their accomplices, managed to escape. One of the criminals was captured alive by the PNH.

Unfortunately, law enforcement mourns the loss of one of their own. SWAT Officer Daveus Jimmy, from the 33rd promotion, was fatally wounded during the fighting against the criminals. Rushed to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.

"The PNH salutes the courage and honors the memory of this valiant police officer, who fell on the battlefield to liberate the city of Mirebalais. It extends its deepest and most sincere condolences to his grieving family and his fellow officers."
