This international recognition honors one of the most emblematic artistic expressions of our identity, born from the creativity, sensitivity, and collective strength of the Haitian people. In a national context marked by profound hardship, this inscription serves as a reminder that culture remains one of our most precious assets : a space where our vitality, our humanism, and our ability to transform difficulties into creation are expressed. The Compas now joins the ranks of universally recognized heritage of humanity, attesting to Haiti’s unique role in the global cultural landscape. The Ministry of Tourism congratulates the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Permanent Delegation of Haiti to UNESCO for their sustained work and institutional commitment. It also commends the researchers, artists, music schools, associations, and cultural communities whose ongoing involvement made this major achievement possible.
