iciHaiti - Festivities : Prohibition of carrying firearms or bladed weapons

As part of its holiday prevention measures, the Haitian National Police (PNH) has already mobilized and deployed all its personnel throughout the country. These measures are specifically aimed at securing areas where large gatherings are expected and increasing police presence on the streets to ensure the protection of all citizens during this period.

The PNH General Directorate informs the public of the decision to prohibit the carrying of firearms, knives, machetes, cutlasses, and daggers in areas where large gatherings are taking place, such as dances, galas, fairs, sporting events, etc...

Those who do not comply with these measures will be subject to the severe penalties stipulated by law. The PNH urges citizens to leave their weapons in a secure location before entering festive areas.

The PNH is working tirelessly to ensure that Christmas and New Year's 2026 are safe and peaceful. On this occasion, the Haitian National Police (PNH) wishes the entire nation a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2026.
