iciHaiti - Literature : The DNL pays tribute to novelist Yanick Lahens 29/12/2025 08:58:26
Several prominent figures from the cultural and educational sectors, including the Minister of Culture, Patrick Delatour, and the Minister of National Education, Antoine Augustin, attended the ceremony. In his address, Ernst Saint Louis, Director General of the DNL, congratulated the author, notably of "Bain de Lune" "La Petite Corruption" and "Passagères de nuit" (winner of the 2025 French Academy Novel Prize), for her invaluable contribution to enriching Haiti's literary heritage. Yanick Lahens received two plaques of honor : one from the Ministry of Education, which highlighted the importance of literature teaching in the Haitian education system, and the other from the Director General of the National Library of Haiti (DNL). Yanick Lahens expressed her gratitude for this honor. She also thanked the Haitian community for its unwavering support throughout her various endeavors in 2025 and reiterated that literature exists to fill gaps, bring forth unexplored narratives, and reveal the hidden dimensions of human life.
