Between January and November 2025, official statistics from the General Directorate of Migration (DGM) reveal that the institution issued a total of 32,174 residency permits. Haitian citizens topped the list of the 125 nationalities that obtained residency permits in the Dominican Republic.

Unlike the previous year (2024), which saw unusual statistical spikes, 2025 saw the issuance of approximately 2,900 residency permits per month by migration management services, with temporary permits predominating.

Haitian citizens remain the most frequent applicants for documents conferring legal status, with 9,184 residency permits granted in 2025, representing 28.54% of the national total.

Venezuela ranked second with 4,679 residency permits.
