On Saturday, February 7, 2026, on the eve of the 2026 Jacmel Carnival parade, as part of efforts to strengthen security and police services in the Southeast Department, the Acting Commander-in-Chief of the Haitian National Police (PNH), Vladimir Paraison, informed the public that two armored vehicles had arrived in the department that day.

These vehicles will be used to provide better service to the public, strengthen the police presence throughout the department, and facilitate rapid interventions in all communes.

The presence of these armored vehicles will allow the police to have greater mobility, a faster response in emergency situations, and a stronger capacity to address any threat or criminal activity. They represent a concrete commitment to increased security, greater visibility in all areas of the department, and greater public trust in the police force.
