iciHaiti - Jacmel : NOTICE to all direct and indirect carnival participants
On Friday, January 23, 2026, Loudie César, the Mayor of Jacmel, advised all those producing sound, regardless of their location within the commune, that it must not cause a nuisance to anyone, particularly within a 100-meter radius of the official Carnival stands. In this regard, the Mayor's office asks everyone to adhere to the principles listed below :

For the following days : February 1st, 8th, 15th, 16th, and 17th, 2026, the official Carnival route remains the same : starting from Avenue de la Liberté (near the Alliance Française), proceeding up Grand-Rue to the Oramò intersection, then down Rue Isaac Pardo.

Throughout the Carnival route, on all Saturday evenings preceding these dates, no unauthorized vehicles, construction work, or tents are permitted on sidewalks or in the street. The City Hall, in conjunction with the Public Works Department, is authorized to tow or remove these obstacles, and the costs will be borne by the property owners.

During the carnival parade days, only City Hall activities have priority, which means :

a) Owners of bars, restaurants, and other establishments located along the official parade route may not play music once the parade begins. They may only operate to greet the entities they wish to attend.

b) Any person who, in general, commits an act that disrupts the smooth running of the carnival activities will be subject to legal sanctions at the request of the City Hall and with the intervention of the police.

c) Anyone with objects on the parade route that could obstruct or cause an accident or other problems (such as broken-down vehicles or metal boxes on the route) must remove them before February 1st, 2026. Otherwise, these objects will be towed in accordance with the law.

All the aforementioned measures for February 1st, 8th, 15th, 16th, and 17th, 2026, will take effect from the date of this announcement and will apply during the specified dates.

The Mayor's Office counts in advance on everyone's understanding and cooperation.
