The PNH guarantees full support to the families of police officers killed in Artibonite

In a deeply emotional atmosphere, Vladimir Paraison, the Acting Commander-in-Chief of the Haitian National Police (PNH), accompanied by members of the High Command, met with the families of the three police officers and a civilian scout killed in the fighting last weekend in Artibonite (https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-47649-zapping-haiti-of-may-31-2026.html).

During this meeting, the Commander-in-Chief confirmed that the officers' bodies had been recovered and were currently in the morgue. Commander Paraison stated that the PNH would allow the families complete freedom to organize the funerals according to their wishes, while formally committing to assist and support them at every stage of the process.

Furthermore, Inspector General Jean Maurest Étienne, the Director of Human Resources, specified that the PNH would support the families well beyond the funerals. This institutional support is part of the decree of July 1st, 2022, guaranteeing a special risk allowance to agents engaged in special operations.
