Marie Carmelle Auguste in Quito this Thursday
The ministers responsible for social sector of Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador, Haiti and Peru are meeting in Quito this Thursday to discuss government policies to reduce poverty around the theme "From poor to citizens : Latin American Experiences of Equity and Social Mobility" The Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister, responsible for human rights and the fight against extreme poverty, Marie Carmelle Rose Anne Auguste, will attend this meeting to present the Haitian experience in this field.

A Haitian wins a bronze medal... for Canada
Jennifer Abel, born August 23, 1991 in Montreal, Quebec of a Haitian father and a mother from Quebec, is the first Haitian to give the first medal to Canada in London Olympic Games ! Jennifer has won a bronze medal in the 3m springboard synchronized, Sunday, July 29, beside Emilie Heymans of Belgian origin.

Boston gives two fire trucks for the Cap Haitien
The city of Boston, via the Boston Fire Department (BFD) will give two fire trucks for the city of Cap Haitien, the second largest city that lack of equipment for fighting fires. "We have extra fire trucks that we don’t use anymore, and this major city in Haiti has no fire trucks at all. We had to do something. These trucks served our city well, and I am proud that they will continue saving lives and property," declared Mayor Thomas M. Menino.

Fight against vehicle theft
At the Council of Government which took place on Wednesday to Les Cayes, Mr. Reginald Delva, Secretary of State for Public Security, shared with the Ministers the measures to fight against vehicle theft by requiring garages to record among other things, certain activities, such as engine changes.
