On the sidelines of a fundraiser for the Coady International Institute at St. Francis Xavier University, Michaëlle Jean declared "What I see in Haiti is the level of courage and determination that exists," stating that the future of Haiti should not be considered as a charity case, "If you continue on this emergency aid assistance, creating that constant dependency, you contribute not to the solutions but to the problem."

Creation of micro Industrial Parks

Friday, Wilson Laleau, Minister of Trade and Industry, met with officials of the Interamerican Development Bank (IDB) on the creation of micro Industrial Parks. Were present at this meeting Mr. Jeudiel A. Darius, Cabinet member of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Mrs. Artha Simon, Cabinet Member of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Mr Martin Chrisney and Mr. Gilles Damais of te IDB, Mr. Duquesne Prophete, Consultant and Mr. Eddy Michel Daniel, Expert Consultant to the Minister.

The movies of the weekend

The two films scheduled for this weekend within the project "Sinema Ekran Piblik" : Saturday, October 13 "Coïncidence" of Rodrigue Alcindor ; Sunday 14 "Amour, mensonge et conséquences" of Jean Alix Holmand. These films will be screened at Thomassin 25, Place Maïs Gâté, Place Canapé vert, Champs de Mars, Place Fierté cité soleil and in Fontamara.

Victory of Haiti against Netherlands (5-9)

Friday, on the occasion of the "Homeless World Cup" organized by the Foundation TELMEX, Mexico, the Haitian team played a match against Netherlands, Haiti won 5-9.
