Haiti on the agenda of the Security Council
The Security Council has included the situation in Haiti in its work program of January 2013. At its meeting, the Council will receive a report of Mariano Fernández, the head of the UN peacekeeping mission in Haïti (Minustah).

2.500 investment applications
Georges Andy René, Director General of the Investment Facilitation Center (CFI) welcomes the restructuring measures taken in order to make more efficient the CFI. He indicated that the CFI had received 2.500 investment applications during the last three months and that several projects should be finalized at the beginning of this new year amid internal conflict of some employees of CFI, very critical against their Directorate, which would be in reality due to, budget cuts related to the emergency period, which forced the Directorate of CFI, to take some unpopular measures.

Mirlande Manigat pessimistic...
On the eve of the new year, Mirlande Manigat has estimated that the governmental team in place, had no economic and social policy, only a vast propaganda campaign. According to her, a real economic and social policy does not need propaganda. She lamented the political balance of the year 2012, constituted by a succession of scandals and estimated that if nothing was done to change this state of affairs, the year 2013 could prove fatal for the team in place.

8 Haitian children cared in South Korea
The Korean contingent of military engineers (ROKENGCOY) of the Minustah, has finally left Haiti Saturday, December 22, 2012, brought with him 8 Haitian children suffering from heart defects to receive specialized care in the Republic of South Korea. These children are accompanied by their parents and a young doctor, who will follow a three-month training on heart disease. Plane of the South Korean army provided transport to Seoul, at the initiative of the Korean company.
