Carnival of Flowers 2013

On Wednesday, a follow-up meeting on the holding of Carnival of Flowers, held this year on 28, 29 and 30 July in Port-au-Prince, was held at the Ministry of Culture. The meeting was chaired by Josette Darguste, the Minister of Culture and Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism.

58 illegal Haitian migrants arrested on the island of Deseche

On Tuesday, the U.S. Coast Guard and the Puerto Rican police arrested 58 undocumented migrants of Haitian origin, on the tiny island of Desecheo, 20 km from Rincon, a municipality on the west coast of Puerto Rico as they attempted to enter the U.S. territory illegally. The police department of the island indicated that among these illegal migrants there were women and children.

89 years of the DGI

This Thursday marks the 89th anniversary of the DGI, on this occasion a Mass of thanksgiving in the Church of the Sacred Heart of Turgeau was said this morning, and the new website of the DGI was launched.

Inauguration of the host organization of Choiseul-Milot

Tuesday, Ms. Dieudonne Luma Etienne, Regional Director North of the Ministry of Tourism met with several authorities in the North to the Town Hall of the Municipality of Milot as part of preparations for the inauguration of the host structure Choiseuil-Milot, which will be held Thursday, June 6 in the presence of President Michel Martelly.
