Emergency meeting on the coffee sector
Thursday, the actors of the coffee sector of the National Coffee Institute of Haiti (INCAH) met together to reflect on the state of emergency of the coffee leaf rust and the recovery of the sector. The Agronomist, Joseph Vernet, Secretary of State for agricultural recovery, which replaced the Minister at the meeting, explained the importance for the government to fight the coffee leaf rust and promote the recovery of this sector, which reported nearly $12 million annually to the Haitian State.

Presence of Haiti in international fairs
Tuesday, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism held a planning meeting of the representations of the Ministry of Tourism in international fairs. The Minister will sign at one of these tourist fairs an agreement with Air France to Top RESA.

Strengthening of the local production of sorghum
This Friday morning, was signed, a MOU establishing a partnership between Brasserie Nationale d'Haïti, S.A (BRANA) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to increase the farmers’ income by enhancing local production and storage capacity of sorghum (pitimi) that will be purchased and used by BRANA in the production of Malta H.

Portability of mobile phone numbers
On Monday, the National Council of Telecommunications (CONATEL) launched an international call for tenders for the supply and operation of a Central System of portability of mobile phone numbers in Haiti.
