Monday, Emmanuel Ménard, President of the Transitional College of the Permanent Electoral Council (CTCEP), confirmed that until now the CTCEP was still within the limits of its ability to hold elections by the end of the year.

Tuesday, Me Rene Francisco, the new Government Commissioner, visited the National Penitentiary, accompanied by his counterpart from the Croix-des-Bouquets. He intended to inquire about the situation of prisoners at the largest prison center of the country in the fight against prolonged pretrial detention.

Mr. Berthony Paulicart passed away...

The Consulate General of the Republic of Haiti in Guadeloupe inform the general public and the Haitian community in particular of the death of Mr. Berthony Paulicart Monday, August 26, 2013 at the University Hospital of Guadeloupe. It is with dismay that the Consulate learned the disappearance of Mr. Paulicart, a Haitian who therefore never missed an opportunity to collaborate in various cultural activities organized by the Consulate. In these painful circumstances, the Head of Mission Mr. Lafontant Louis and Consulate staff present their condolences to the family Paulicart, his relatives and friends, and the entire Haitian community in Guadeloupe. May his soul rest in peace.
