The gang leader "Doy Junior" shot dead

Saturday afternoon, Joseph Kénold Junior, aka "Doy Junior" the self-proclaimed leader of a powerful gang of the popular neighborhood of Grand Ravine, Martissant (south of Port-au-Prince), was shot dead during violent clashes between rival elements within the armed group, 3 months after having claimed responsibility for the assassination of the former gang leader Mackenzie François, aka "Ti Kenkenn".

MOPOD criticism arrests of protesters

Friday at the demonstration several opposition activists were arrested, charged inter alia of violence and disturbing public order. Serge Jean Louis, the spokesman of MOPOD think these are the actions that recall the period of post-Duvalier military regimes.
