President Martelly in Panama

The President of Uruguay, Tabaré Vázquez, will meet next week with President Michel Martelly, within the framework of the Summit of the Americas to be held in Panama City on 10 and 11 April.

Public Transportation Modernization

This week, the Envoy Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Hubert Labbe, received at the Embassy of the Republic of Haiti to the Kingdom of Spain, teh visit of the National Commissioners for the Modernization of Public Transportation in Haiti, Dr. Marc Antoine Archer and Dr. Ana Belio who were accompanied by the engineer and industrial lawyer Fidel Pérez Montes.

Two new Directors to MARNDR

Wednesday Fresner Dorcin, the Minister of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development (MARNDR) has proceeded to the installation of two new technical directors. These are the agricultural engineer, Jean Rossini Crèvecoeur Director of the Coordination Unit of the Departmental Directorates Agricultural and Agricultural Engineer, Gary Augustine to the Directorate of Research and Innovation, newly created.

Visit of the commercial team of the Embassy of Canada

A team of the Commercial Section of the Canadian Embassy went to the central region of Haiti and visited the hydroelectric plant of Péligre whose infrastructure is being redeveloped. The delegation then visited Belladère customs where it met with the head of the border post. This tour will have allowed to learn more about the economic and commercial advantages of this region.

Wednesday, Fresner Dorcin, the Minister of Agricultre participated to a Portfolio Presentation meeting of the World Bank concerning the agricultural sector.

Filmmaker Raoul Peck awarded

Monday at UNESCO (Paris), as part of the 10th anniversaries of Henri Langlois award and of International meetings of heritage cinema, the Haitian filmmaker Raoul Peck, received the "humanism trophy and commitment 2015" for his entire career.
