ALERT : Baradères under water...
The Civil Protection Department (DPC) informs us that rainwater flooded Baradères (downtown and Vincendron) at the start of the weekend, reaching 1.50 meters in places. DPC invites residents of flood risk areas and of landslide to remain vigilant with respect to rainfall events.
The former deputy of "Christian Movement fora New Haiti(MOCRENAH), continues to express reservations regarding the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP). He reproached it of not having taken into account most of the political parties recommendations. For his part the former deputy Beghens Théus, Spokesperson of MOCRENAH, denounces the fact that the exclusion of his party, quickly corrected by the CEP, nevertheless caused the departure of many of its potential candidates...
Textile, declining employment
The Association of Industries of Haiti (ADIH) reveals that in general the figures for the first two months of the year show a slight decline in employment in the textile sector and hopes for a swift recovery. January 2015: 36.154 jobs (30.332 HOPE); February 2015: 35.763 jobs (30.149 HOPE)
New Director Genral at the head of MARNDR
Fresner Dorcin, the Minister of Agriculture, proceeded recently with the installation of the Agronomist, Edie Charles as Director General in the Ministry. Edie Charles previously held the position of Deputy Director General at the Ministry. He replaces Pierre-Guy Lafontant, who just spend a little more than 2 years in this position.
