iciHaiti - Security : Former soldiers armed in the streets of Cap-Haitien
Saturday, more than fifty former soldiers in uniform, of the former Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd'H), most of them armed, toured aboard two pick-up, the streets of Cap Haitien causing various reactions in the population. In particular, they demanded the repeal of Presidential Decree of 994, on the dissolution of FAd'H.

Sergeant Jean Lafalaise Fednel, Secretary General of the "National Coordination of Demobilized Soldiers of the Armed Forces of Haiti" (CONAMIDH), who commanded the troop on tour across the country, said that these men and women were ready to join a new army without pay for 3 years if the school fees of their children and their rent, were supported.

Furthermore, he refuted the rumors that suggest that their presence was to disrupt the upcoming elections, stressing that their only goal was to improve security in the country, to encourage the arrival of foreign investors.
