iciHaiti - Dominican Republic : Only 2% registered foreigners, meet the requirements of PNRE
Hundreds of Haitians in irregular migratory situation in the Dominican Republic, continue to flow daily in the 20 registration centers of the National Plan for the Regularization of Foreigners (PNRE). However, the staff of these centers report that most Haitians seeking to regularize their status, arrive without the required documents, allowing to implement the plan.

Washington Gonzalez, Dominican Deputy Minister of the Interior and Police, responsible for PNRE, revealed that as of May 18, only 2% of 207.425 registered persons (all nationalities), out of a total estimated between 210,000 and 220,000 to the deadline of 17 June 2015, had met the requirements of PNRE.

At the same time, many Haitians complain that they have been fired or threatened to be by their employer, which do not want to have problems with the authorities, if their status is regularized after 17 June 2015.
