Thursday, in an interview with reporters Prime Minister Evans Paul spoke about the commitment of the Haitian State to provide assistance in the dignity to our brothers and sisters and advocated for a social and economic reintegration policy.

"All we ask is to treat our migrants in the respect of human rights and dignity. We need a policy of social and economic reintegration to the benefits of our returnees from the Dominican Republic," stressing we are already in an atmosphere of humanitarian crisis [note that 17.456 voluntary returns were recorded at the border since June 18, 2015]

Evans Paul stressed "We want to avoid creating villages of misery by creating camps. Returnees tend to return home and we are working create a social and economic reintegration policy of returnees..."

About the stateless person, the Prime Minister declared "We must at all costs refer on international authorities to address the issue of statelessness. This question can not be treated bilaterally. It is a multilateral issue [...]"
