Monday the eneral Directorate of Migration (DGM) has delivered 300 cards of permanent residence to the sugarcane pensioners. Monday a hundred cane workers, were transferred to the municipality of Haina, where there is a Reception Centre. The trade unionist Jesus Nunez Cañeros Spokesperson and Coordinator of the Union of sugarcane workers in the bateyes said that so far the process was proceeding normally. Sugarcane workers, who received their permanent resident card, were visibly happy, because their presence in the Dominican Republic is now legal.
