Jean Ernest Pierre, a member of the Committee declared "The Haitian of origin do everything for their families. Across the world, we send more than $2 billion a year in Haiti, but this is money that will be wasted because Haiti has only become a consumer country. We no longer produce anything. It is therefore necessary to invest in a collective project." "The Committee is working to set up a Haitian Solidarity Fund, to which all can contribute, to be used first in a project of agricultural production "We want to complete the project and then meet the authorities in Haiti. The fund will be launched when all details will be resolved and that will be ready to invest," explained Ms. Asma Heurtelou, Spokesperson of the Committee. PI/ iciHaiti
