iciHaiti - Social : Demonstration front the Embassy of Haiti in DR

Tuesday, carrying banners, chanting slogans and to the beat of drums, many Haitians in irregular migratory situation, demonstrated front of the Embassy of Haiti in Santo Domingo, to demand identification documents requested, promised many times, but never issued.
They state that for 16 months the Identification and documentation of Haitian immigrants Program was launched [in July 2014] in the Dominican Republic, the Haitian Government has never kept its promises. They indicate that on approximately 98,000 applications to date, less than 5% of them obtained their identification paper.
Exasperated, they warned that if they did not have a positive response to their demands, they will intensify their protest.
