Of more than 1,200 Vocational training centers identified in Haiti, only 190 are registered and recognized in Haiti by the National Institute of Vocational Training (INFP).

According Mervil Guillaumette, the Director of the INFP out of the 190 schools authorized only 24 are public centers and 22 of these 24, are subsidized by the State.

He states that even if the INFP is aware of the irregular operation of the over 1,000 training centers, the State is not able to close them, for lack of being able to offer an alternative to young people. He also emphasizes that 1,200 centers are an insufficient offer for a population of over 10 million. Recalling that with less than 6,000 professional graduates each year, the development of the country remains very hypothetical because the number of professionals is insufficient to get the country out of underdevelopment.
