iciHaiti - Diaspora : Project of a Haitian bank in Montreal
Greg Excellent, 40, a Montreal-Nord Business Head, founder of Capital Plus (2012) for 5 years dream to open a bank in Montreal North or in the Saint-Michel neighborhood in the heart of the large Haitian community in Montreal. This financial institution could invest in entrepreneurial projects of the black and Haitian community but also facilitate money transfers, with a partner bank, cheaply between Quebec and Haiti.

Although he acknowledges the existence of constraints to make this project a reality, he is convinced that "this is not a crazy idea. We have the tools to do it. The community needs and claims it. It has long been left behind and wants to take control."

Taking the example of the Chinese community Greg imagine one of the first major investments "in Montreal North, there are many small food shops, specializing in Haitian cuisine, but there is no large area. One might focus that capital and reinvest it."
