iciHaiti - FLASH USA : Helicopters and U.S. soldiers arrive in the country...

Wednesday in Washington, Admiral Kurt Tidd, commander of U.S. Southern Command, confirmed at a press briefing that following the passage of Hurricane Matthew, the United States was in the process of driving 9 military helicopters to Haiti for relief operations and that an aircraft carrier and two other ships also were ready to intervene if necessary https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-18826-haiti-usa-the-us-aircraft-carrier-george-washington-deployed.html

For now, 150 to 200 US soldiers have been mobilized for these operations and helicopters are expected to arrive in Haiti on Thursday October 6th. They will be responsible for conducting reconnaissance operations in the most affected areas and deliver emergency aid. U.S. relief operations will be controlled in Haiti, by a command cell arrived Wednesday evening at the international airport of Port-au-Prince, Toussaint Louverture.
