iciHaiti - Elections : Humanitarian aid, warning of CEP

The Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) informes the parties, political groups and candidates in particular, that humanitarian aid to victims of Hurricane Matthew is an act of non-partisan solidarity. This gesture, can not be used, in such cases, as part of an approach of electoral campaign.

In addition, the initiative to apply on the donations made in that context, with logos, emblems and slogans, identifying with a political party or candidate (after the campaign's closing date) violates the electoral Decree and the provisions taken by the Council which provided for the closure of the campaign Friday, October 7, 2016.

The Electoral Council, while recalling to order the parties and candidates concerned, wishes to emphasize to their attention that the humanitarian actions obey in priority to the principles of neutrality and impartiality.
