"The Christmas Village we inaugurate tonight is an initiative taken in 2011 by Dithny Joan Raton in order to put under the spotlight the talent and creativity of our artists and artisans," declared the Master of Ceremonies adding "alongside the festivities, gastronomy and the great diversity of the craft products of the Village of Christmas, we add a touch of ecology and respect for the environment." Sjhoud be noted that the inaugural ceremony was attended by former Minister of Culture, Dithny Joan Raton, the Mayor of the City Macky Kessa, the Director of the Southeast of the Ministry of Tourism, of the Sponsor of the 2016 edition of the event, Danielle Saint-Lot, of members of the Civil Society and several hundred young people and children who left happy with gifts distributed by Santa Claus.
