During its stay, since October 8, 2016, the group of Cuban doctors treated nearly 105,000 Haitians, mainly for acute respiratory infections, intestinal parasites and malnutrition, among other diseases, according to a report of state. The Cuban medical brigade carried out 640 house inspections during these two months, which included preventive drug treatment to more than 68,000 patients; Visited 14,000 houses and chlorinated about 50,000 water tanks. These measures have reduced the number of cholera cases diagnosed from 272 to zero when Cuban doctors arrived in southern Haiti. It should be noted that the international intervention group of specialized doctors "Henry Reeve" was created in 2005 with the mission of helping other countries affected by catastrophes and serious epidemics. In recent years, members of this group have collaborated with the World Health Organization (WHO) in combating the Ebola virus epidemic in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea Conakry, most affected by this health crisis.
