Haiti - Diplomacy : Qatar seeks Support from Haiti

Wednesday at the National Palace, de facto President Jocelerme Privert received the visit of Richard Griffiths, the representative of the Minister-Counselor of the Emir of Qatar, Dr Hamad Bin Adulaziz Al-Kawari, to present his candidacy to the Directorate General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

Richard Griffiths, who was accompanied by Armand Anton, an Antigua and Barbuda special envoy to the United Arab Emirates, sought Haiti's support for Al-Kawari's election.

Jocelyne Privert listened with interest to Qatar's request and underlined diplomatically that it would be up to the new Government after February 7 to decide on the choice of Haiti for these elections, which would take place at the end of 2017.
