iciHaiti - Education : Lycée Jacques Roumain celebrates its 10 years

The Lycée Jacques Roumain, [1,300 students in 2 sessions], located in "Grand-Ravin" (Martissant), will have 10 years in October. On this occasion, the directorate of this public school, born under the administration of the former minister Gabriel Bien-Aimé in 2007, wanted to organize a series of extracurricular activities that will run until June 6, 2017. Exhibition of photos, pupils' artistic works, lectures and debates centered on the writer Jacques Roumain, visit of the Hospital of the State University of Haiti (HUEH), the municipal asylum, the civil prison of Pétion-ville are part of activities that are part of the program of this celebration.

It is, according to the Director of the school, Jean Fequiere Léonard of educational, social and cultural activities that are part of the institution's mission, taking advantage to praise his institution proud of its erformances over the last three years: 93% success at the bac and 80% at the 9th AF.

"The Lycée Jacques Roumain can be proud of being among the lycées of reference in terms of discipline and results," said his Director.

For this year, the school has a staff of 1,300 students in two sessions (morning and evening), informs the director Léonard, which renews his determination to well lead the high school to better guide young people despite the difficulties.
