Did you know that the marine and coastal zone extending from Jérémie to Abricots, with an area of 7.574.53 hectares and a perimeter of 104.5 km is by presidential decree, a "Protected natural resources managed area a "Protected natural resource area managed of Jérémie-Abricots" since April 2017.

This protected area is composed of natural systems whose it is required a long-term protection and maintaining the biodiversity while meeting the needs of communities dependent on these systems. The purpose of this order is to ensure protection against any development that does not respect the environment.

Private properties included in the entire "Protected natural resource area managed of Jérémie-Abricots" are recognized and will remain in full ownership by the owners. However, these properties will be subject to the public easements defined by the law and management plan for the said protected area.


All the landmarks of this protected area as well as a map of location can be found in the Presidential decree which created this marine and coastal complex, published in the Official Journal "Le Moniteur" Number 55-A, Friday, of April 7, 2017.
