iciHaiti - Digicel Foundation : Towards more responsible young Internet users

In the last 10 years, the internet has become an important part of everyone's life, especially for teenagers. Today, social networks are the preferred means of communication for young people, who often ignore the rules and risks of the Internet and easily endanger themselves in their uses.

As part of the World Safer Internet Day, the Digicel Foundation visited the Rosalie Javouhey Center located on Poupelard Avenue in Port-au-Prince, to meet one hundred girls aged between 10 and 14 to educate them about their rights, duties and responsibilities as Internet users.

As of now, these girls have better understood the issues of the internet, the functioning of social networks, the importance of published information and respect for privacy. They will now know what kind of message to create and convey, how to manage the time spent online, how to react to different publications and particularly how to manage their physical, digital, mental and emotional well-being.
