iciHaiti - Politic : Seminar on the Convention on the Prohibition of Biological Weapons
Friday in Port-au-Prince ended a two-day seminar on the promotion of the Convention on the Prohibition of Biological Weapons.

Organized in partnership by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs and the European Union, this high-level seminar aimed to promote the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction internationally through adoption of the Convention on the Prohibition of Biological Weapons, which Haiti has still not ratified.

In line with its 2003 strategy for the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, which has since been reaffirmed in the 2016 EU Global Strategy, the European Union is supporting this dynamic on a global scale and currently has an envelope of 2,3 million euros for awareness-raising actions.

This seminar was inaugurated by Chancellor Antonio Rodrigue, Daniel Feakes of the United Nations and Raphael Brigandi of the European Union who represented Ambassador Vincent Degert.
