Sunday, March 25 at the Petit-Goâve Lambi Club, was held the Grand Final of the 3rd Edition of the contest "Words to convince" contest organized by Educ Ha Group, a non-profit organization formed by young academics from Petit-Goâve

4 schools of the city: Faustin Soulouque High School, College the New World, the College of the Parish of Petit-Goâve, the College Saint-Ignace de Loyola and the Marie Dominique School confronted each other in these intellectual jousts which allow the competitors to show what they are capable both in terms of public speaking and academics.

The jousts were organized around the themes:

- Donald Trump's racist remarks about some shitty countries in America and Africa (Debate for or against);
- Corporal punishment in classrooms;
- Learning by heart or memorization among students;
- The Internet and the book in relation to digital development, do we need books?

Faustin Soulouque High School was represented by Daël Ottni Vincent (Philo), the New World College by Fedorlensky Kharleinz Forvil (NS1), St. Ignace College by Eudes Biker Leander (NS3) and Marie Dominique School by Christina Dorcine (NS2).

After deliberations, the members of the jury, the Lycée Faustin Soulouque won the First Prize and was crowned champion of this 3rd Edition. Daël Vincent has imposed himself by his eloquence, his verb and his arguments rational and convincing.

The second prize was awarded to Saint-Ignace College. Eudes Biker Léandre has well defended, he could have won the first place but Daël Vincent opposed him a strength intellectual resistance.

The third prize went to Marie Dominique School.

The fourth prize was awarded to Fédorlensky Kharleinz Forvil of the College the New World which was noted by the accuracy of his examples.

In his speech Mr. Kébreau Zamor former Commissioner of the Government of Petit-Goâve and one of the supporters of this activity has demonstrated the importance of the word, the word that constitutes in his opinion the engine of civilization and the vehicle of human thought.

At the end of the presentation of the gifts to the winners, Daël Vincent took the opportunity to ask the government authorities to ensure that the Faustin Soulouque High School can reopen its doors for high school students to return to class, which they have been deprived since February 27 due to teachers' strike demanding payment of salary arrears and letter of appointment https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-23887-haiti-petit-goave-two-high-school-students-called-to-appear-in-court.html
