According to the internal regulations of the Senate, this bill was put to the vote and voted by 17 Senators for and 1 abstention. According to the Senator, the provisions of this document call for and complement the obligations of the Haitian State to harmonize national legislation with international instruments. As a result, this law aiming to combat violence against women is proving to be more than worthwhile, taking into account the international obligations of the Haitian State.
