iciHaiti - Petit-Goâve : 2 students of Faustin Soulouque High School, reconvened

Following the absence on March 25 of two students of high school Faustin Soulouque Petit-Goâve, Nelson Avril and Isma Wallace, convened by the Investigating judge, Me Fritzner Duclair, accused of destruction of property, criminal association https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-23947-haiti-news-zapping.html , Judge Duclair sent two new appearance warrants to the two high school students to appear before the Magistrate on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Petit-Goâve courthouse.

However, Pierrevilus Jean Elius, Principal of Faustin Soulouque High School, who received at his office the two new warrants of appearance, wrote to the investigating judge to request a postponement of the case to 8 May pending the Ministry of National Education, once officially informed, take the necessary decision.

In this case, more than one informed observer doubts that these summonses respect the legal procedure and wonders why it is to the Director of the Lycée that the cabinet of instruction remits these mandates? The High School Directors are not bailiffs and do not have the judicial authority to legally deliver these warrants. If it is true that the first mandate was given to the students through the Director, the two students not living in the Lycée these mandates should be handed by bailiff to the homes of convoked.
