iciHaiti - Les Cayes : The OPC is committed to protecting and promoting the rights of peasants
At the invitation of the Committee of Hope and Remembrance to Save the Island of Haiti (COMESOSAL), the South Departmental Directorate of the Office of Citizen Protection (OPC) recently organized a talk for 43 peasants (26 women and 17 men) in St-Hélène, a neighborhood of Laborde, 3rd communal section of Les Cayes.

During this talk, the team of the Departmental Sirectorate of the OPC, led by Me Pierre Roldy Maurice, spoke with the participants about the attributions and the role of the Office and set out the different rights of the peasants : ights to health, food, housing, drinking water, freedom, association etc...

In addition, peasants took the opportunity to convey their grievances to the OPC, including the lack of health service in St-Hélène.

At the end of this talk, the OPC Directorate promised to work with COMESOSAL to promote and protect the rights of peasants of St-Hélène.
