iciHaiti - Security : Dismantling of two networks of counterfeiters in Port-au-Prince
The Ministry of the Interior informs that in the context of a spinning conducted jointly with the National Police of Haiti (PNH), two networks of counterfeiters operating in the vicinity of the Ministry, Street Monseigneur Guilloux and at the level of the Street de l'Enterrement, were dismantled in the morning of Tuesday, April 10, 2018. A dozen arrests were made in connection with this case.
These networks were specialized in the production of false working papers and various false documents, normally issued by the General Directorate of Taxes (DGI), by the National Office of Identification (ONI), the National Archives and the Directorate of Immigration and Emigration (DIE) were also arrested in possession of documents and materials used to commit their crime, including several false seals of public services.
As part of this operation, judges of the Peace Court of the East section of Port-au-Prince, accompanied by Fednel Monchery, the Director General of the Ministry of the Interior, have affixed seals on two buildings housing these networks.
