The Town Hall of Jacmel, during the commemoration of the first anniversary of the death of the historian Michelet Divers, inaugurated the deadlock Michelet Divers, while announcing that a street in the city will also soon, the name of the Historian.

This ceremony was held on the background of the opening of an exhibition "Michelet Divers" of Photos and masks of the carnival of Jacmel, had brought together members of Muséophiles Haiti SA, representatives of the Haitian University world, working in Heritage and many friends of art.

Dr. Kenrick Demesvar, curator of this exhibition, which will last eight months, has announced that the future Museum, which is still waiting for 52,000 US dollars for its construction, will also bear the name of Michelet Divers considered as the father of "Jacmélitude".

Michelet Divers former departmental director of the Ministry of Culture of the Southeast is the author among others, of books on the history of carnival of Jacmel and its various characters. The two essential books "The Jacmel Carnival" and "Jacmel between fragments and memory" allow readers to visit and better understand the city of Jacmel and its cultural life.
