iciHaiti - Politic : The UCREF on mission in the Dominican Republic
A delegation of the Central Financial Intelligence Unit (UCREF) composed of Joseph Oldy Bellegard, Director General, Ronald Gerard Mezard, Deputy Director General and Director of Coordination, Me Laurent Theralien, completed a 3-day mission to the Financial Analysis Unit (UAF) of the Dominican Republic.
The main objectives of the Haitian delegation were to better understand the structural model of the UAF, to identify good practices and transposable improvements in Haiti and also to reinforce the existing cooperation links.
During this mission Wendy Lora Pérez, Director General of the AU and her counterpart of UCREF Joseph Oldy Bellegarde signed a memorandum of understanding relating inter alia to the prevention and detection of money laundering and financing to enhance cooperation and exchange of information on financial intelligence between the two Nations and to advance joint actions to effectively combat these scourges as part of the international cooperation process.
