To counter the action of bandits, especially in the neighborhoods Grand Ravine and Village de Dieu (South of Port-au-Prince), the Divisional Commissioner Berson Soljour, West Departmental Director of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) has launched since April 9, the Phase 1 of the operation "Koukouwouj".

For the success of this operation, a special investigation team, called the "Research and Intervention Group" (GRI) was formed within the Departmental Department of Judicial Police (SDPJ) of the West with the mission of fight essentially against gangs in general and those specialized in robberies in particular.

Results of Phase 1 :

18 arrests, 7 confiscated vehicles and 2 firearms seized, 4 members of the Anel gang neutralized.

Moreover, we have just learned that the Departmental Directorate of the West has just arrested another member of the gang of Anel at elmas 77. It is a young schoolboy whose identity was not revealed, which appeared in a video wearing a blue hood. His accomplice, Zorej has already been arrested at Delmas 41 during a shooting exchange.
