iciHaiti - Social : Launch of Europe Week
As every year on May 9, to celebrate the ties of friendship and cooperation between the European Union (EU) and Haiti, the EU associated with the Member States present in Haiti (Germany, France, Spain and the United Kingdom) proposes to the Haitian public a "Europe Week" which combines a series of educational and festive activities.

This year, no less than 28 events spread over two weeks, will be offered to the public until May 15, 2018. On the menu, 8 film screenings, 8 roundtables / debates, 7 concerts and a play, inaugurations and 2 exhibitions.

Concerning the European Union-Haiti friendship concerts, let us mention the arrival for the first time in Haiti of the great British-Gambian Mandani singer Sona Jobarteh, one of the few women, if not the only one, to play the Kora (instrument West African string) which will be joined on stage by James Germain. The Belgian electro Angstromers and the Chouk Bwa root group will also perform on this stage.

In addition, this year, the European Union joins the Haitian Writer / Writer Gary Victor's short story contest for two conferences with the winners of the latest contest on the country's future.

In a perspective of decentralization, the different activities will unfold in Port-au-Prince, Gonaïves, Jacmel and Cap Haitien. Europe Week will close with the 5th Edition of the Human Rights Moot Court Competition at Alexandre Dumas High School.
