Wednesday on the sidelines of a visit on the prison conditions in the national penitentiary and prolonged pre-trial detention, Jean Roudy Aly, the new Minister of Justice, speaking on the insecurity prevailing in several popular neighborhoods in the Metropolitan area, declared "The ball is over for the bandits of Grand Ravine and those of the other popular neighborhoods which terrorize and sow panic in the population."

He assures that formal instructions were passed to the National Police of Haiti (PNH) to permanently pacify the so-called zone of "non-rights". He believes the population should live without fear adding, "We are taking formal steps to control these areas."
