Thursday a little before noon, unidentified gunmen stormed the Health Center located at Portail Léogâne (southern outskirts of Port-au-Prince) and opened fire causing panic and several injuries among nurses according to witnesses.

Agents of the Departmental Unit of Maintenance of the Order (UDMO) intervened (after the escape of individuals) to ensure the safety of the building and its staff.

The assessment of this serious incident has not yet been communicated. The motive for this aggression is unknown until now. Some witnesses say they belonged to a gang came the ransom the Center, other states that these individuals chasing a member of another gang who had taken refuge in the health center.
