iciHaiti - DR : The international aid to welcome Haitians back home

Canada and the European Union jointly visited the Border Resource Centers (CRF) at the border at Anse-à-Pîtres with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to discuss with local authorities, the protection actors and beneficiaries, to better understand the reality of vulnerable migrants crossing the border between Haiti and the Dominican Republic every day.
Through the project "Help for Children and Vulnerable Women at the Border", funded by Canada and implemented by IOM Haiti; 295 protection actors were trained on human rights, 2,070 Haitians were documented, 701 vulnerable migrants received support for the implementation of income-generating activities.
Canada and the European Union have set up 4 Border Resource Centers (CRF) in Malpasse, Ouanaminthe, Anse-à-Pitres and Belladère to welcome migrants returning from the Dominican Republic (volunteers or deportees) and rehabilitated 6 Centers to support vulnerable migrants at the border, including women and girls, and to manage the risks associated with irregular migration and trafficking.
