iciHaiti - Culture : Drawing and Color, an exhibition to see in MUPANAH
The abundance of Haitian painters, immortalized by the scale, diversity and quality of their works, show the concern for evolution in all that they create and think and demonstrate in their works the richness of their imagination.

Color and drawing are two essential aspects in Haitian painting. Described as primitive, Baroque or flaming for some other painters of the first generation such as Georges Remponneau had the mastery of the shape line, space and color. It should be noted that a significant number of Haitian painters had acquired a solid artistic training in Canada or elsewhere, such as Séjourné who received an academic training, which he will pursue in Jamaica and later in the United States.

Some artists are out to conquer the beauty; others already master space and depth; others still express themselves in a particular and indefinable style. Some paintings show a tragic look of life, others in a certain realism are interested in the objective rendering of everyday life in all its simplicity. Still others go through surrealism, which expresses the real functioning of thought. The abstract through which they show forms that do not refer to reality in any way, offering to see the painting for itself. And other themes, such as: the sacred, nature, daily life and the peasantry that are closely linked to their environment.

The interactive "Drawing and Color" exhibition is open to the public and continues until August 2018 at the Haitian National Pantheon Museum (MUPANAH). A visit not to be missed.
