The novelist, poet, screenwriter, Quebec filmmaker of Haitian descent (born in Port-au-Prince on April 13, 1953) member of the French Academy Dany Laferrière, will be at the 12th Festival Haiti en Folie in Montreal (July 25 to 29) whose he is the honorary president for the event "Dany Laferrière, open heart... 30 books later !" on this occasion, the author will be offering an open-heart lecture on Friday, July 27 at 6:00 pm at the Grande Bibliothèque de Montréal located at 475, boul. de Maisonneuve East. The unique event will also put under the spotlights the complete work of the author through an exhibition of his 30 books, various films adapted from his novels and some surprises.

Dany Laferrière will then sign his 30th book "Autoportrait de Paris, avec Chat" (at Boreal Editions) a book of 320 pages, entirely hand-drawn, acclaimed by critics, qualified masterpiece this work is considered by the press as the craziest and freest book of recent decades. All other books that will also be in sales-signatures.
